How to make Heart Shaped Pizzas for Valentines

I just learned how to make pizza dough from scratch. It definitely takes a lot longer than I thought, but it’s also pretty therapeutic, working with the dough. Anyways so I wanted to make heart shaped pizzas because I thought that would be a fun thing to do. So here is how I made heart shaped pizzas which would be perfect for an at home date night idea, for a valentines date, or perfect for a girls night in. Whatever you wanna do, there’s nothing more fun than cooking up some pizzas, and hanging with your love, or loved ones.

You can either choose to make the dough from scratch, or buy premade pizza doughs. If you’re short on time, or don’t have the patience for making your dough get the premade ones. If you’d like to make some from scratch, here’s the recipe I used:

How to make the dough from scratch:

  1. Mix the yeast with water using 300 ml of warm water, 12g of yeast, and a little sugar.
  2. In a separate mixing bowl, add 500 cc of flour, make a nest in the middle and put the yeast liquid in it. Stir Stir Stir. ( I just used all purpose flour, but if you want you can get a specialty pizza flour.)
  3. Add in 30 ml of olive oil, and a little more sea salt.
  4. Knead into balls. Cover w/ plastic wrap and ferment for two hours.
  5. Cut the dough into 6 pieces. Rest in a circle for 30 minutes.
  6. Shape the dough into the heart shape, and make sure to leave space for the crust.
  7. Add the cheese and other ingredients.
  8. Bake at 250 degrees for 8 minutes.
  9. If you want to add basil, you can do it afterwards, and bake again for a 2 min.
  10. Brush or pour some olive oil over the pizza at the end.

This will make 6 pizzas, so If you have extra doughs, you can always freeze them and it keeps for a month. Just put them in plastic bags and make sure to write the date you made them. You can make other things like focaccia bread, or breads in general. This dough is very versatile and can be used for anything.

How to make the heart shape for pizzas:

My tips for making the heart shape – you can either use a heart shaped cutter – which makes it more uniform. Which I didn’t have, or you can just shape it like I did. You want to pull the bottom shape of the dough to be pointed first, and then form the heart on the top. I actually cut the middle of the top to give it more of a heart shape. So don’t be afraid to use scissors if you can’t get it to look right. But overall you just want to push the shape out first with your hands, pressing gently into the dough so it expands and flattens. It’s actually very simple, and very fun! Try it out and let me know how you like it.

These are my favorite night market staple since childhood. They’re crispy, chewy and airy. And so addictive. This is a classic taiwanese street food you must try!

They also have a variety of topics you can choose from including plum powder. I like mine plain.

Taipei has so many different types of food and restuarants! If you don’t know there are plenty of vegetarian options and even halal ones.

This one was an entirely vegetarian restuarant. I also highly recommend their Buddha bowls. It’s sister stores with popular bagel: Miopane

My must orders:

Everything you need to know before visiting the St Everything you need to know before visiting the Starbucks Reserve™ Dream Plaza in Taipei, Taiwan. It’s the largest flagship store in the entire Asia-Pacific region, located inside Dream Plaza in the Xinyi district, right next to the 24-hour bookstore. It’s a beautiful space with artwork that’s colorful and bright, and the rooftop has some of the best views of Taipei 101. 🏙️

They’ve recently made some changes to how you reserve seats and updated the purchase minimums (as of April 2026). I wanted to share a quick guide on how to make the best of your visit so you don’t have to figure it out on your own—like which entrance to use if you’re arriving in the morning!

Some special highlights of this location: it’s one of the few with an actual Teavana bar, a bar for coffee-infused cocktails, and a Siren Lounge. I personally love the Teavana bar—that’s where I usually get my favorite tea latte drinks. All of their food and pastries, whether savory or sweet, are quite good. 🥐☕️
