How to Make Heart Shaped Collagen Protein Gummies

I made some heart collagen protein gummies for Valentine’s day. I’ve been wanting to make these for a while, and I finally did! The recipe is actually so so simple, fun and quick! It was so tasty and its a great way to get in more collagen, and additional protein in fun form. This was my first time making gummies and they were a lot easier. Although there was one part that was a little bit difficult and I mentioned some tips in there that can help you with that. Also probably did not help that I was also recording a video of this, and it made my process slower.

You’ll need: heart molds (comes w/ droppers), a bowl for mixing, a measuring cup, a whisk, collagen powder, protein beverage mix, and gelatin.

  1. Put 1/4 cup cold water into the mixing bowl, mix in your collagen, beverage mix and gelatin. For the gelatin I used 2 packets (0.25g each). Whisk it until it doesn’t have any more chunks. I mixed it after each scoop so it wouldn’t be one big blob. Let it sit for 5 minutes.
  2. After the 5 minutes, you’ll slowly mix in 1/4 cup of hot water. I added a little bit and whisked it, and then continued to do that until the water was poured in.
  3. Using the droppers quickly fill up the heart molds. I say quickly bc it started to get hard and less watery as time went on. I had to actually put it in a pot of hot water so it could keep it melted enough to be used in the droppers. Pro Tip: Make sure to fill the molds all the way to the top without overflowing, also make sure to not have any bubbles inside of it. This was my first time so it wasn’t as perfect but I’m still really happy with the way they turned out.
  4. Then put it into the refrigerator for 30min- 1 hour. I left it in for an hour, just to be sure. lol. I put it in with the tray because the molds are a little bit flimsy and needed a lot of support.
  5. Pop them out and enjoy! 🙂 To store them, I kept them in an air tight container and put it in the fridge. It should be ok for at least a week. But you’ll probably just devour it before then.

This batch of gummies together is 15g of protein, 2 g of verisol collagen (not even including the gelatin I added in) w/ vitamin’s A, C, and E, AND selenium, zinc, and biotin for stronger nails and healthier hair. Also, the bright color comes from beet powder, and turmeric extract. UGH…It is so good!! I used the strawberry lemonade and wild berry flavors and it makes it not too sweet and tart. I love it!! I hope you enjoy!! (PS, If you’re interested in learning more about the products I used, or for a newbie discount code. Email me at kelly@healthlovefit.com.)

The Shilin Cixian Temple is a historical site loca The Shilin Cixian Temple is a historical site located within Taipei’s famous Shilin Night Market!

Most people come to Shilin for the street food, but the food is only here because of this temple. Cixian Temple is the literal heart of the market. It’s been here since the 1800s and the stalls actually grew around it over time.

Look closely at the front: The left and right sides of the exterior were built by two different teams of master carvers competing to see who was better. That’s why the carvings on each side don’t perfectly match!

If you can’t tell art history was one of my favorite classes. 🤓
